Bringing Healthcare Closer to Rural Communities

In many remote regions, access to quality healthcare remains a challenge. To address this, the Digital Dispensary Program was launched in 2023 in Koraput district, Odisha—a region where people often travel long distances for even basic medical care. This initiative is more than a healthcare service; it’s a lifeline for rural and economically disadvantaged families.

Through the dispensary every service is accessible to all, without any charges to the community, ensuring that no one is left behind due to financial constraints.

From primary and multi-specialty teleconsultations to advanced diagnostic tests, essential medicines and preventive screenings, the program empowers communities to take charge of their health. Eye check-ups and free spectacles further enhance quality of life, while health awareness sessions organised in communities promote long-term well-being.

What makes this initiative truly transformative is its human connection—patients in remote villages can consult specialists via telemedicine, supported by an on-site doctor who guides them through the process. This blend of technology and compassion has already touched 1,37,364 lives reducing health inequities and building trust in modern healthcare.

The program’s impact has been widely recognized, earning following prestigious awards for innovation and social change.
